Welcome to Vivo Music Studi, based in Scrooby (near Doncaster) on the historic site of Scrooby Manor House, associated with the Mayflower Pilgrims (USA).
Vivo Music Studio was set up by Mezzo Soprano Kamilla Dunstan in 2006 in New Zealand, and today it continues in the UK as a calm, supportive place to learn, practise and grow in confidence.
Lessons At The Studio, Fees & Approach
One-to-one lessons are available in Singing, Piano, Composition, Musicianship, and Music Theory. Each session is tailored to your individual needs, learning style and musical goals.
The approach is focused but relaxed, with a fun, supportive atmosphere where you can develop strong technique at your own pace. Whether you’re just starting out, returning to music after a break, preparing for auditions, or working towards a higher level, lessons are designed to build confidence, musicality and real skill.

Meet Kamilla Dunstan
I’m Kamilla Dunstan, a professional mezzo-soprano with a professional career in both performance and teaching. I have performed principal roles with companies including the Royal Ballet & Opera (formerly the Royal Opera House), Glyndebourne and English National Opera. I’ve also performed in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall, and have been featured on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.
My teaching is shaped by professional experience, blending clear technique with a practical understanding of how artists develop.
Alongside Vivo Music Studio, I also teach at Emil Dale Academy as a one-to-one singing tutor on the Degree Programme.

The Young Artist Scheme is for young performers who feel ready to take a focused next step. It offers structure, guidance and opportunities that support real growth in performance.
Student Success
Students who have trained through Vivo Music Studio have earned places at leading UK performing arts schools and conservatoires, including the Royal College of Music, Royal Northern College of Music, Urdang, Performers College, Renaissance Arts Conservatoire, Body Works and LIPA.
Students have also gained places on programmes including British Youth Music Theatre, Glyndebourne Academy, Opera North Youth Company and Guildhall Young Artists Online.
Vivo Music Studio Fellowship Programme x Zebra Studios
I run the Vivo Music Studio Fellowship Programme in collaboration with Zebra Studios. Through the Fellowship, I offer mentorship and professional development for early-career vocal educators while they teach students at Zebra Studios.

Kamilla biography

Kamilla was born in Yorkshire and later emigrated to New Zealand before returning to the UK. Kamilla studied at the Royal College of Music International Opera School, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Kamilla is part of the Team at Emil Dale Academy as a 1:1 Singing Teacher.
Kamilla made her Royal Opera & Ballet (Formally The Royal Opera House) debut as Ramise (Arminio, Handel) and covered the role of the Komponist in Opera North's production of Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss) in 2023.
Kamilla has also covered the Singer in the Royal Ballet’s new production of Like Water for Chocolate by Joby Talbot in the summer of 2022.
In November 2021 she made her English National Opera debut as Waltraute in Richard Jones's new production of
The Valkyrie (Wagner) and sang Second Lady in Glyndebourne’s semi-staged production of The Magic Flute in December 2020.

Preziosilla (La Forza del destino, Verdi- Regents Opera), Suzy/Lolette (La Rondine- West Green Opera House), Ariodante and Faramondo (London Handel Festival), Fanny Price (Mansfield Park, Jonathan Dove- Opera South), Dorabella (Cosí fan tutte, in English- Clonter Opera), Naomi (Ruth- Philip Hageman- Pegasus Opera) and at the Royal College of Music International Opera School, Ramiro (La finta giardiniera), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) and Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus).
In 2019 Kamilla covered the lead, Eurydice Woman in English National Opera's production of Birtwistle's opera The Mask of Orpheus and covered Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte at the Glyndebourne Festival. Kamilla was also an Alvarez Young Artist in 2017 and covered the role of Zaida in Garsington Opera’s production of Il turco in Italia (Rossini).
Concerts include Floßhilde in Das Rheingold with the Birmingham Philharmonic at the Birmingham Symphony Hall, Vaughan Williams’s Serenade to Music with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, also broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and a soloist in Te Deum & Jubilate (Handel) with the English Chamber Orchestra at St Paul’s Cathedral as part of the City of London Festival.
Kamilla has also appeared on Classic FM.
A 2nd Place winner at the Lyra New York International Vocal Competition (2021) and a finalist for the Maureen Lehane Singing Competition at Wigmore Hall (2018).
Kamilla was a Polonsky Fellow at the Aspen Music Festival & School (USA), a Wagner Stipendien at the 2015 Bayreuth Festspiele and a Samling Artist in 2014.
Kamilla was an ABRSM Scholar and was kindly supported by a Help Musician’s Tutton Opera Award and the Josephine Baker Trust.
